Intro to Charcoal Drawing 10/30-12/11
Have you ever wanted to explore the bold and expressive world of charcoal? Or struggled to control this versatile medium? In this hands-on class, students will learn the essential techniques of working with charcoal—from understanding different types of charcoal (vine, compressed, and pencil) to mastering shading, blending, and creating dynamic contrasts. Through guided exercises and step-by-step demonstrations, participants will explore line, value, texture, and form while learning how to plan and layer a drawing. By the end of the course, students will have the confidence and foundational skills to create expressive charcoal artwork and incorporate the medium into future pieces.
There will be no class Thursday, November 27th due to Thanksgiving.
