Join us for Pied Piper Theatre’s Devised Intensive – 5000 Steps

A young child’s boundless imagination faces the test of time.  As the world around them forces them into new and uncharted beginnings; what is left of the joy that made them who they were?  Through a kaleidoscope of visual and physical storytelling techniques, this devised piece will ask the question:  what inspires us to achieve our dreams with a  mind wide open? (Ages 8 – 16)

What is a devised theatrical piece?  Devising theatre is a powerful and engaging genre that encourages young students to take active role in the creative process.  Our students will use the description above as inspiration to create an original production from the ground up.

The class will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 beginning on January 7th.

Tech Week begins Monday, February 17 and continues, Tuesday, February 18 and February19.

Ticketed Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 20, 21 and February 22 @ 7pm

 Class members will receive two complimentary tickets to be used on the performance of their choice.

Pied Piper Theatre Announces Auditions for 12 Angry Jurors, A PPT Conservatory Production

Are you a passionate young actor looking to take your craft to the next level? Pied Piper Theatre is seeking talented individuals to join our upcoming production of 12 Angry Jurors.

12 Angry Jurors is adapted from the television movie by Reginald Rose by Sherman Sergel that follows a jury of twelve individuals as they deliberate the fate of a young person accused of murder. Initially, eleven jurors are convinced of the defendant’s guilt, but one juror, the lone holdout, casts doubt on the evidence presented. Through intense discussions and arguments, the jurors gradually begin to question the assumptions they had made, leading to a surprising verdict. The play explores themes of justice, prejudice, and the power of individual conviction.

This conservatory-style production offers a unique opportunity to work with experienced professionals in a rigorous and demanding environment.

Requirements:

* Strong acting skills

* Commitment to a serious and intense rehearsal process

* Ability to work well in a collaborative ensemble

To audition:

* Please prepare a one minute monologue from a play.

* Be prepared to read from the script.

Experience the magic of theater this summer with our senior intensive and a vibrant and energetic story that follows a determined young woman as she navigates the challenges of a prestigious law school.  With a blend of humor, heart and empowerment, she defies stereotypes and proves her worth through intelligence, tenacity and creativity. Dive deep into the heart of performing arts as you embark on an intensive training program designed to ignite your passion for theatre and elevate your skills to new heights.

Under the guidance of industry professionals and expert instructors, you will be immersed in a dynamic curriculum that covers acting, singing, dancing, and character development. From mastering show-stopping musical numbers to honing your improvisation skills, this intensive will empower you to become a versatile and confident performer.
Through hands-on workshops, rehearsals, and collaborative group activities, you will be challenged to explore your artistic expression, develop your stage presence, and cultivate a deep understanding of storytelling through performance.

At the end of our three week session, you will showcase your talents in 3 ticketed performances. This program is perfect for aspiring actors, singers, dancers, and theater enthusiasts, providing a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and shine on stage.

Join us for an unforgettable summer of creativity, friendship, and FUN at our Theatre Camp featuring the lively and iconic musical, “High School Musical Jr.” Designed for young performers aged 8-13, this camp will immerse campers in the world of theater as they explore singing, dancing, and acting while bringing this beloved story to life on stage.

**Camp Highlights:**

🎭 **Performing Arts Training:** Our experienced instructors will guide campers through vocal techniques, choreography, and acting workshops tailored to all skill levels. Whether your child is a seasoned performer or new to the stage, they will gain confidence and skills to shine!

🎤 **Rehearsals & Performance:** Campers will rehearse songs and scenes from High School Musical Jr. as they learn the importance of teamwork and collaboration in a fun and supportive environment. The session will culminate in exciting performances for family and friends, showcasing their hard work and dedication.

🎶 **Character Development:** Campers will dive into the personalities of their characters, exploring themes of friendship, individuality, and perseverance that resonate with all young dreamers. They will learn to express themselves creatively and discover the joy of storytelling through performance.

💃 **Fun Activities:** Beyond rehearsals, we’ll have engaging activities such as improvisation games, theater crafts, and team-building exercises that encourage creativity and self-expression. Every day will be filled with laughter, encouragement, and new friendships.
