“Insider’s Look into Crafting a TED Talk: Talk Back with Kim B Miller”
Sunday, August 10, 2-4 pm (Ticketed Gallery Event – ARTfactory Gallery, 1st floor)
Registration fee: $15
Join Kim on Sunday, August 10, 2-4 pm for an insider’s look at crafting a TED Talk—from inspiration to execution—as she shares her journey, creative process, and lessons learned from the TED stage. Light refreshments available.
Kim B Miller is a dynamic spoken word artist, author, and TED speaker whose bold, thought-provoking poetry and commanding stage presence have inspired audiences across the country. As the first Black Poet Laureate Emerita of Prince William County, Manassas & Manassas Park, VA, Kim brings authenticity, passion, and purpose to every performance and presentation.
In May 2025, Kim delivered her first TED Talk, “17 Syllables To Stop The Blame Game,” blending the power of haiku with personal insight to challenge mindsets and spark transformation.
With a background in business and technology—holding degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology and Northern Virginia Community College—Kim bridges the analytical with the artistic. She’s a nationally recognized speaker and facilitator, having led workshops at UC Berkeley and Google, and served as a keynote at high-impact events including the Women Impact Virginia Summit and the Rappahannock Writers Conference.
Her many honors include Haikuist of the Year (2021–2023), the Vivien H. Hansbury Award, and InsideNoVa’s 2025 Author of the Year. Kim also hosts a monthly open mic, creating space for community and creativity to flourish.
