Actors Theatre at the ARTfactory is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Lend Me a Soprano, a delightful farce by renowned playwright Ken Ludwig. Directed by Vince Worthington, this uproarious comedy will run from June 13 to June 22, 2025, with performances at the ARTfactory’s Wind River Theatre in Manassas, Virginia.
Set in 1934, Lend Me a Soprano transports audiences to the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, where the ambitious manager Lucille Wylie prepares for a one-night-only performance of Carmen starring the world-famous soprano Elena Firenzi. However, chaos ensues when Elena arrives late, her jealous husband Pasquale makes an unexpected appearance, and Lucille’s assistant Jo must navigate a whirlwind of mistaken identities and backstage shenanigans to save the evening. This gender-swapped adaptation of Ludwig’s Tony Award-winning Lend Me a Tenor delivers a fast-paced, slapstick comedy filled with romance, rivalry, and riotous humor.
Cast members include: Deb Hansen, Betsey Muratore, Meighan Hogate, Cecilia Zugel, Jeremy Gordet, Andrea Pajarillo, Robert Poston, and Carolyn Corsano-Wong.
Performances will take place in the Wind River Theater at the ARTfactory, June 13, 14, 20, and 21 at 7:30 PM and June 15 and 22 at 2PM.
